Title: First Contact and Commonalities

Run Time: 22 min 15 secs

Host: Luke Rodgers

Panelists: Oktober, Nabbit

Topic: First Contact

Aliens land in a public place….what does Oktober think? It’ll be an invading force. Citing (somewhat sloppily) War of the Worlds. Nabbit suggests several different reasons for why they would invade the Earth.

Nabbit points out that “Humans Are Gross!” and Aliens should probably fear us.

Plus what would they think when they saw us drinking cow’s milk.

In the universe….Size Matters. What if humans were gigantic compared to the first intelligent aliens we encounter?

What if Aliens just want to do what we do…hang out on our home planet in pajamas with a beer, watching Alien Netflix?

This is all assuming that Aliens are intelligent….could they be more like a Xenomorph? A rabid beast. And if they get to’d they do that? Luke brings up the example of barnacles…attaching to a ship and traveling with it.

The panel starts talking about Carbon based lifeforms…and Water Bears (Tardigrades…Not TARDIS‘s as Oktober says first). And what about body construction? How is Captain Kirk bedding all those alien women? The panel talks about it’s fascination with District 9.

When discussing Alien lifeforms you can always quote Futurama. Or Rick and Morty.

Topic: Strange Party Ideas

  • Nabbit sets the standard of making sure that if you come up with a party idea you ask yourself the question, “Who would come to this party?

  • The panel attempts to explain what a toga party is to Oktober.

  • Nabbit continues his militant take on parties…All of them should require cake.

  • The panel brings up the Dreamcast party again (Celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the release of the Sega Dreamcast console). With games including Pin the tails on Tails and Bust Kasumi’s Bust.

  • Luke talks about the fact that other countries, apparently, throw America themed parties. The panel opens up the idea of starting a America theme party consulting business.

  • Oktober talks about the catalogs that used to exist for societies like the Odd fellows. It reminds everyone of a more specific version of the Oriental Trading Company catalog.

  • Luke suggested the bad movie theme party. He suggests Manos: Hands of Fate, but everyone has difficulty figuring out how to execute the theme.

  • Luke talks about the idea of having a color themed party. Oktober goes flat black, Nabbit goes Rainbow and Major Monocle decides to go salmon…with horrifying results.

Game: “Drink It” or “Sink It” Challenge: The Woo-Woo

This simple 3 ingredient drink (Vodka, Peachtree, Cranberry Juice) is best served in a Red Solo cup. Oktober likes it simplicity and tastiness. Major Monocle thinks it is best served in college. Nabbit enjoys  it and it’s name (He loves saying “Woo Woo!”). Give it a try (The recipe is listed on the main page before these notes).

Title: Side Kick Simpaticos

Run Time: 19 min 36secs

Host: Luke Rodgers

Panelists: Oktober, Nabbit, Major Monocle

Click Here To Play! (or Right click to download!)

Topic: What Side Kick do you most relate to….

Luke gets the conversation started by revealing that he relate to Superman’s pal Jimmy Olsen…. always getting into odd situations and being more of a hindrance than a help to the hero.

Oktober feels a great deal of kinship with DynoMutt, the Dog Wonder…a bit stupid and easily distracted, but loyal.

After a bit of a discussion as to whether or not Vegeta is a side kick or a rival… we find out that Major Monocle shares a kinship with Krillin (sense a Dragonball theme here). Always around and on paper he’s powerful, until you compare him to everyone else on the show.

Nabbit is the true hero behind the hero….Kato from the Green Hornet. Although he also has lots of affinity for Alfred Pennyworth from Batman…old guy, who’s still awesome.

The mention of Kato also makes Luke think about the Old Time Radio serials…especially the westerns where the side kick was normally the comic relief.

Honorable Mentions: Bob (from Deadpool) and Hulk’s side kick…His State Farm agent.

Game: The Movie Board

By drawing three cards, that have common movie tropes on them, we try to identify a movie that fits all the cards.

Title: Gyms, Yoga and Sexual Positions

Run Time: 22 min 27 secs

Host: Luke Rodgers

Panelists: Oktober, Nabbit, Major Monocle

Click Here To Play! (or Right click to download!)

Topic: Love/Hate Relationships with the Gym

  • The discussion begins around the “New You” obsession that begins in January for a lot of people. Oktober talks about the people who make an effort by buying something (either a gym membership of some sort of equipment) and think that’s all they need. When really they should just walk up the stairs occasionally.

Game: Yoga or Sexual Position?

The names for yoga positions and the positions listed in the Kamasutra sound kind of similar don’t they? Well lets see if you (and the panel) can figure out which ones are which.
