Title: Best Drunk Foods

Run Time: 21 min 23 secs

Host: Luke Rodgers

Panelists: Oktober, Nabbit, Major Monocle

Click Here To Play! (or Right click to download!)

 Topic: Booze and Food Combinations

  • The panel gets side tracked talking about what kind of alcohol they enjoy. Nabbit thought this might inform the topic as to where everyone was coming from. Major Monocle is the Bud Light/ Jaegermeister kinda guy. Nabbit is a casual Rum/ Vodka drinker.  Oktober is all about tart cocktails/Ciders/ Dark Beers. Luke like a little of everything (except tequila).

Game: “Drink It” Or “Sink It” Challenge

The drink is called the “White Bikini.” This drink did not go over well. The panel was a bit overwhelmed by the alcohol content. And the consistency. And the flavor (milk and citrus). The recipe has Rum, Vodka, Milk, Lemon and simple syrup. (You can see the full recipe one the main page before this post). Nabbit could not drink it…he tried it, but just couldn’t get past it. Major Monocle downed it after an initial shock. Try it out and see what you think.

Title: Lingerie….For Or Against?

Run Time: 22 min 47 secs

Host: Luke Rodgers

Panelists: Oktober, Nabbit, Major Monocle

Click Here To Play! (or Right click to download!)

 Topic: Lingerie!

  • Major Monocle and Oktober agree that lingerie is for a certain type of person. And Major Monocle is not one of those people. Oktober feels that lingerie is to common to be over exciting (for her).

  • Nabbit isn’t against lingerie, but finds this type of clothing more attractive.

  • Nabbit argues that possibly lingerie is not for the home user. He brings up the technical aspects of removing a bra. And then corsets.

  • The panel talks about the other side of the gender coin, Male lingerie (NSFW). Major Monocle is still a no on this for him.

Game: “Fun With Lingerie” Trivia

Title: Born in the Wrong Era

Run Time: 18 min 50 secs

Host: Luke Rodgers

Panelists: Oktober, Nabbit, Major Monocle

Click Here To Play! (or Right click to download!)

Topic: Born in the Wrong Era…

  • Luke attempts to explain the feeling of being born in the wrong ear and searches for a psychological term for it…and generally fails.

  • Oktober brings up the 80’s (which of course she does) and talks about how cultural trends are cyclical….and the panel suggests buying her one of these for her iphone.

  • Luke talks about how he’s fascinated by the 1920’s and 30’s era. He theorizes that the attraction is because it was a period of revolution, which is another reason he feels drawn to the 1960’s.

  • The panel wanders down a side street into the things of yester-year….like libraries and phone books.

The Game: The “Drink It” Or “Sink It” Challenge – The Bronx Cocktail

This episode’s challenge is one of the top 10 cocktails of 1934…The Bronx. Simple ingredients (gin, sweet and dry vermouth, orange juice) lead to a drink that the panel thinks is a bit flavorless. None of the ingredients shine through, although Oktober tastes a bit of the citrus. Major Monocle downed it pretty easily and was ready for another. Nabbit suggests that Luke kick it up a bit….with cilantro (to be fair he might have been at least 2 and a half sheets to the wind at this point). The recipe is posted on the main page so you can give it a try on your own.

The Bronx

  • 1 oz Gin

  • 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth

  • 1/2 oz Dry Vermouth

  • 1 oz Fresh Orange Juice

  • Orange Peel Garnish (if desired)

  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin filled with ice.

  • Shake well.

  • Strain in to small cocktail glass and garnish with orange peel.

 Topic: Sandwiches!

  • The panel discusses the basic configuration of the Club Sandwich. Nabbit insists that it must have both Ham and Turkey, not either or. Everyone talks about the possible origins of the sandwich.

Game: The State of Sandwich

In this game we’ve made the panel guess which sandwich belongs to what state. It all came from this list. We did the following sandwiches:

Title: Beach Vacations and the Seaside

Run Time: 22 min 12 secs

Host: Luke Rodgers

Panelists: Oktober, Nabbit, Major Monocle

Click Here To Play! (or Right click to download!)

 Topic: Beach Vacations

  • Oktober, who is our resident beach goer, loves the smell of the ocean. Luke believes that the air improves the flavor of any food that’s served outdoors. Nabbit believes it might be an act of revenge against the nearest sea creature.

  • Nabbit enjoys the sound. He’s convinced that the wave sound machines stole the idea from the ocean. We’re not sure whether the ocean actually had a trade mark on it.

  • Oktober associates the beach with two different eras….the 1950’s and the 1980’s. Citing the teen beach movies (like Beach Blanket Bingo) and Miami Vice as examples.

  • Sand is both essential and a nightmare at the same time. It’s great on the beach, but not fantastic when you bring it into the house.

Game: The “Drink It” Or “Sink It” Challenge

In line with the theme of the show we have the Seaside. Despite the fact that the panel compared its look to an Ecto Cooler (which it is not) they all seemed to like it. Oktober downed it pretty quick while Nabbit sipped not, initially, knowing what to expect. It came out a bit greener than it might have if you used commercial orange juice as compared to the fresh squeezed I used for this one. The panel recommended that it be garnished with and umbrella and maybe a slice of pineapple. The full recipe is the entry before the show notes.
