Topic:  Best Burger Techniques

  • Major Monocle is serious about seasoning. He’s simple, salt and pepper. Oktober says the more french onion soup mix mixed into the ground beef the better. Luke likes some Mrs Dash. Nabbit is a purist, no seasoning…he says if you want some seasoning you do it after he’s finished grilling it.

  • Oktober wants to get the panels impression of various BBQ sauces. Nabbit dislikes some sauces (he states that it’s a Carolina sauce, but the panel isn’t quite sure he’s identified it correctly.) He’s looking for a sauce that is smokey, not sweet and sour. Which leads to a conversation about regional recipes.

  • Luke insists that toasting your bun is the best way to go. Major Monocle is all about steamed buns. Oktober says you don’t need to touch her buns. Nabbit says all of these techniques have to be done just right otherwise it’ll be a disaster.

  • The panel discusses the important technique of letting your meat rest. Although Nabbit supports the idea he states that he very rarely does it. However we do get a good play by play of how he grills.

  • Garnish? Lettuce (Leaf Only!)…as for type that is up for debate. The Major isnt a big fan of tomatoes.

The “Drink It” Or “Sink It” Challenge

Feature on this show was the “Patriotic Melting Pot.” This is a layered cocktail (Red, White and Blue) that is serve to the drinker with an extra glass. They take the cherry garnish and drop it in the empty glass. Then they pour in the layered drink and it all mixes together…something of a metaphor, in alcoholic form. It’s a sweet drink that tastes something like a Kool-aid.
